Reflection in Desiderata

Desiderata - Reflection   By: Brandon Ferrer 1.) As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Everyone can benefit greatly from this poem's inspiration and drive, but especially young people like me who frequently face challenges in life. This has taught me to simply be resilient in the face of whatever challenging conditions we may encounter in life. Even when the surroundings has a lot of reasons to be unhappy, we should not let them affect how calm and silent we remain. 2.) If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Don't compete with anyone but yourself; instead, concentrate on bringing out the finest version of yourself. No matter how wonderful you believe you are, there will always be someone who is greater to you or lesser to you. Enjoy what you have while working to get better. 3.) Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Don't waste time...

Reflection - I Got Flowers Today

I Got Flowers Today by: Paulette Kelly The poem that "I Got Flowers Today" is written by Paulette Kelly and emphasizes that receiving flowers on Valentine's Day should only happen as a token of love from close friends and family. With the gift of flowers being used as an explanation for a tortured life rather than a sign of love and affection, the heartbreakingly straightforward poem details the life of an abused lady.   In order to discuss the importance of human rights and gender equality in global efforts to advance peace, security, and sustainable development,   this poem was written about violence against women. They emphasized the value of everyone's human rights, but particularly those of women and girls.

Reflection - A Poppy

A Poppy by: Peter Howard For me, the poem is about war. I believe that the emphasis in this poem is on war because, if we read the opening line of the poem carefully, we readers would understand. This poem is good because it allows the readers to consider and provide examples.   One could argue that 21st century literature uses this poetry. The usage of plants as symbols has numerous hidden meanings. Peter Howard, the author, buried the words in it by covering them with plants to elicit a response from the readers about what it really means.

Reflection - A Letter to Pedro, U.S Citizen, Also called Pete

A Letter to Pedro, U.S Citizen, Also called Pete by: Rene Estella Amper The poem acts as a "wake up call" regarding the predicament our nation is currently through. This is solely due to the countrymen's resistance to finding a solution. Simply said, they will depart and look for brighter pastures.   This correspondence is evidence of a true friendship. There are other factors involved besides politics or culture. The focus of the story is on enduring friendships and the best form of platonic love that can exist between friends.

Reflection - Footnote to Youth

Footnote to Youth by: Jose Garcia Villa Footnote to youth focuses on the possibility of teen marriage. This story focuses on the most prevalent issue facing young people today: love. Being in love involves many aspects of life that we should keep in mind. Many people should think twice before getting married young since, given everything that has been happening in our society, we can come to regret it. Marriage is a holy rite that should only be performed by two individuals who have seen their love blossom.   Dodong, who is seventeen, and Teang wanted to be married and start a family at a young age because they were so much in love. Because I thought that Dodong's father understood his thoughts and had consented to the marriage, I could state that Dodong's parents also wed young. Raising their families is a commonality among these three generations. Despite being cliche, I enjoy the narrative and how it ended since it portrays one of the pressing societal concerns facing our ...

Reflection - The Visitation of the Gods

The Visitation of the Gods by: Gilda Cordero-Fernando The short narrative explores the reality of the demise of Filipino idealism in public school administration. It demonstrates the challenges of maintaining motivation and enthusiasm in raising the country's educational standards. It draws attention to the officers' inspections, which serve as judges of the teachers' and schools' ratings for efficacy.   The narrative also demonstrates how the exercise can be used as a tool to discipline disobedience by giving the most challenging and tough assignments to the teachers and students who are least popular. The tale also reveals the competitive mindset of the Filipinos. One's efforts to advance personally and professionally might occasionally be interpreted as a threat to another man's position or authority. It would probably be perceived as "showing off" instead. Unfortunately, the conflicting interests affect more than just the parties directly involve...

Reflection - The Last Leaf

The Last Leaf by: O. Henry I believe the author implied something to us. As an illustration, consider Johnsy, the sick girl who thought that the leaves on the old ivy vine could predict when she would pass away. She abandoned faith and placed her faith in the leaves. Johnsy might have recovered and none of the events that followed, such as the death of Old Behrman, if she had begun taking medication or receiving treatments earlier and kept the optimism in mind.   This story portrays readers like me as appreciative. It becomes apparent how things operate just like they do in the novel. You will experience the story's emotions. Love, happiness, rage, and endurance I believe that after reading this narrative, several readers sobbed. I might not be crying, but I can sense it. I hope that this experience serves as a lesson for those who have struggled with their exceptional talents and can lead us in the correct direction. Simply have faith, just like Sue, Johnsy, and Mr. Ben...
